How to Get Over Your Ex

Most people have suffered through a breakup of different intensities. It could be a horrible and nasty fight that ends it or just a drifting apart and eventually you draw the line somewhere to end it. After a breakup, there are so many things to do still while your heart is aching. Remember it's a process that takes time.

  • First things first are to delete him from your social networking sites, and from your phone. Don't forget to change your relationship status; you can make it private if you don't want everyone to know. If you need to, pour your heart out to your best friend for a little while, but try to not overwhelm her too.
  • Eat chocolate! Dark chocolate contains the chemicals that mimic our own bodies feel-good chemicals naturally produced. It also contains lots of antioxidants that will help our bodies, when eaten in moderation.
  • Eliminate him from your home too. Toss or return his toothbrush, deodorant and cologne left behind, along with any clothes or pictures.
  • Rock out or veg out to feel good songs and movies. My two favorite feel good movies are Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Break Up
  • Go outside and walk. You can do it anytime and alone, but give someone a heads up of your plans if going alone. It’s free and easy; you can walk through a park and admire the little miracles of nature. Going with a friend can help to release your thoughts and stress, but alone gives you time to think about yourself.
  • Think of the breakup as an opportunity to learn. Honestly ask yourself if there was anything that you contributed to or did that made the relationship sour. Think of it as a bad moment and learn from your mistakes in the feature.
  • Accomplish something for yourself. Whether it’s cleaning your home, taking a yoga class, taking an Everest Online class, or giving yourself a makeover, it’s a step in the right direction. You will feel more confident in yourself and happier when your body, life, and home are great.
